C.L.I.M.B. Continuous Learning Islanders Made Better. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi May 6, 2020

The annual Islander Development Day tradition continues for its 23rd consecutive year in a new virtual format with Continuous Learning, Islanders Made Better (C.L.I.M.B.)  This virtual conference will provide the campus with innovative sessions designed to introduce timely and relevant information to help our campus community thrive in today’s environment. The conference is broken into engaging tracks with various sessions on teaching, learning, mental health, wellness, benefits, digital solutions, and much more. The highlight of the event will be a virtual luncheon address presented by President Kelly Miller.

The virtual event provides engaging and timely content in five different tracks that you can choose from. Click on the track names below to read a description of each:

Faculty lead sessions on mental health, research and publications, and current community projects. The track is designed to introduce content relative to staying healthy during the current pandemic and how to leverage our new normal to engage in scholarly research activities. In this track we adapt our traditional academic practices to ascend to a new level of professional action.
The digital service catalog is explored in the technology track designed to refresh your current digital skills toolbox and introduce new innovative approaches to digital solutions for increased office effectiveness and efficiency. The track extends from content creation, workplace communication to change management. Participate in this track to vault into the new digital era by acquiring skills and strategies for the “new normal”.
A focus on wellness is essential to succeeding in physical and remote work. This track will introduce skills in emotional intelligence, how to conquer stress, be effective with time management, how to approach days with energy, and mental fitness. These strategies will help individuals learn to relax and approach life through a healthy lens. Come get refreshed and leap into your workday reenergized!
A collaborative approach to understanding benefits and services available to you is at the core of this track. Vendor partners will go into detail about benefit options and opportunities. Learn about money saving tips, good financial habits, and the teacher retirement system. Come and explore some of your benefits and vendor partnerships to soar into a successful year!
Workday essential skills are the focus of this track. Sessions will specifically introduce topics ot refine and further develop your professional skills. Options include fundraising, mindfulness, supervision success, procurement best practices and more.  Let’s spring into action and acquire essential professional skills.
